This medication contains FERROUS CALCIUM CITRATE + FOLIC ACID which belongs to a class of medication known as haematinics. This medication is primarily used to treat anemia. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not get enough iron from foods and is called an iron deficiency. In this condition, the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues.
As we said above this medication contains two drugs namely FERROUS CALCIUM CITRATE + FOLIC ACID. FERROUS CALCIUM CITRATE works by increasing red blood cells in the body and hemoglobin production in the body. On the other hand, Folic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin that helps in the growth of cells and also helps in making healthy red blood cells. As a result, large numbers of RBCs are produced in the body and each tissue gets sufficient oxygen supply.
Folic acid (vitamin B9) and ferrous calcium citrate (iron supplement) are both included in FERROUS CALCIUM CITRATE+FOLIC ACID. FERROUS CALCIUM CITRATE+FOLIC ACID helps in the production of red blood cells (RBCs) and the protein hemoglobin in the body. Consequently, the body produces enough red blood cells (RBCs) to ensure that every tissue receives an adequate amount of oxygen.
This medication is helpful in the treatment of anemia and iron deficiency in the body.
