Uses of Salicylic Acid

Depending on the dose form and strength of the preparation, salicylic acid topical is used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including acne, dandruff, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis of the skin and scalp, calluses, corns, common warts, and plantar warts.

Benefits

How to Use SALICYLIC ACID…2%W/W OINTMENT

You need to take off all of your makeup. Wash your hands, then gently pat dry the affected area. Using your fingertips, apply a thin layer of salicylic acid lotion to the afflicted skin. Not just each spot, but the entire acne-affected area, should be treated. Wash your hands thoroughly with water after using.

If a child or teenager younger than 18 years old has chickenpox, the flu, another unidentified sickness, or has just had a vaccination, they should not use this medication. In certain circumstances, this medication may raise the possibility of Reye's syndrome, an uncommon but deadly condition.
