EACH 5 ML RECONST.CEPHALEXIN….125MG- Many different types of bacterial infections are treated with this medicine. An antibiotic called cephalosporin is what this drug is. It acts by preventing bacterial development. For viral infections, this drug is ineffective (such as the common cold, and flu). Any antibiotic's effectiveness may be reduced by unnecessary or improper use.

Special warnings and precautions for use

Every effort should be taken to find out if the patient has ever experienced a hypersensitivity reaction to cephalosporins, penicillins, or other medications before beginning cefalexin therapy. Patients who are penicillin-sensitive should administer Cefalexin with caution. The penicillins and cephalosporins are partially cross-allergenic, according to some clinical and laboratory findings. Both medications have caused serious responses in patients, including anaphylaxis.

Undesirable effects

Gastrointestinal: Pseudomembranous colitis symptoms may develop during or following antibiotic therapy. Rare reports of nausea and vomiting have been made. Diarrhea has proven to be the most common adverse effect. Rarely was it severe enough to necessitate stopping therapy? Additionally, dyspepsia and stomach pain have happened. Transient hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice have only rarely been documented, just like with some penicillins and some other cephalosporins.

Hypersensitivity: Allergic reactions have been observed in the form of a rash, urticaria, angioedema, and rarely erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis. These reactions usually subside upon discontinuation of the drug, although in some cases supportive therapy may be necessary. Anaphylaxis has also been reported.

Haemic and Lymphatic System: Eosinophilia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, and positive Coombs' tests have been reported.
